  • Vampire Weekend fans have been anticipating the next tour by the band ever since they dropped their critically acclaimed album ‘Father of the Bride’ in 2019. The latter quartet with the lead singer Ezra Koenig toured in 2018 and performed at various cities in North America, Europe, and Asia in support of their 2013 album ‘Modern Vampires of the City. ’ That tour included performances at major music festivals such as Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Osheaga as well as at famous venues like Radio City Music Hall in New York and the Greek Theatre.

Since then, however, Vampire Weekend has been quite limited to festivals charity performances, and shows and has not been touring much at all. But, of course, the fans are still waiting for Ezra, Chris, Chris, and Jonah to tour again, which seems likely since the band released their first album in more than six years. So when can fans expect Ivy League indie rockers to release a tour to support ‘Father of the Bride’?

Well, Vampire Weekend has already been announced as the headliners of several big 2020 summer music festivals, which implicitly supports the hypothesis that they will embark on a full-fledged tour around such dates. They are expected to headline festivals including Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee, Osheaga in Montreal, Canada, Railbird in Lexington, Kentucky, and End of the Road in Dorset, UK. If these festivals happen as expected, one could naturally expect that Vampire Weekend will set up their headlining shows at different venues in North America and Europe before or after.

One can also think of past touring cycles with Vampire Weekend when trying to guess about their return to the concert stage. Following their 2008 debut ‘Vampire Weekend’ and 2010’s ‘Contra,’ Ezra Koenig and co took their touring worldwide for almost a year that included almost one hundred performances. Considering this, it would be quite fitting for the band to deliver such a daring, longest string of concert performances for the album ‘Father of the Bride’. After festival season ends, fans should expect Vampire Weekend to keep touring across cities to give fans a chance to watch them perform live.

After their final touring cycle ended in 2014, Vampire Weekend took a hiatus and fans were left to ponder whether or not Ezra, Chris, Chris, and Jonah would reunite to record music. As the band has just reunited and created another album, which topped the Billboard charts, do not expect to see them go on another long hiatus like this one anytime soon. These guys will be quick to capitalize on the hype surrounding the glorious new ‘Father of the Bride’ songs by playing as many shows as they can. This probably means shows with them continuing through well into the latter half of the year 2021. Since their newest album is so splendid and acclaimed, Vampire Weekend has plenty of motivation now to go on a global victory tour.

Of course, any exact forecast about Vampire Weekend or any other musician's tours is somewhat dubious given the current COVID-19 epidemic. We still have to wait and see how profoundly the worldwide health crisis and later lockdowns would influence the live music business and their possible and ready capacity to organize events once again. Coronavirus concerns have caused delays or cancel events for headline 2020 tours by The Rolling Stones, Rage Against the Machine, New Order, and many more. Should social separation policies take more time than anticipated, Vampire Weekend might also have to extend the period before their live events.

Music aficionados should be reassured, nevertheless, that concerts will reopen and Vampire Weekend will be among the most much-desired events to see when the day arrives. Getting to dance and sing along to fresh "Father of the Bride" tracks like "Harmony Hall," "This Life," and "Sunflower" will make your first Vampire Weekend gig back even more of a joy whenever it may be.

Unfortunately, a big-scale Vampire Weekend concert tour in 2020 seems to be gradually disappearing from the horizon. Looking forward to 2021 and 2022, however, the signs point to Ezra Koenig, Chris Tomson, Chris Baio, and Jonah Hill performing the main stadium and amphitheater gigs for "Father of the Bride." It entails festival-sized events wherein classic tunes like "A-Punk, Oxford Comma, and Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa can still be appreciated alongside current ones. Always whenever
