A Chorus Line Scheduled for
Productions Across U.S. in 2014
The late Marvin Hamlisch's
enduringly popular A Chorus Line will be returning to a few stages in the U.S.
in 2014, bringing this Tony Award-winning musical back to life after the close
of the last national tour in 2009. As of Sept. 11, A Chorus Line is currently
showing at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle. The production began the
theatres' 2014-15 season on Sept. 3, and it will be performed through Sept. 28.
Helmed by director David Bennett, a regular figure at the fifth Opportunity
Theatre, this ongoing production of A Chorus Line includes a special cast, in
that it's mainly made up of local performers from the Seattle area. It also
consists of devoted entertainments of Michael Bennett's original choreography
from the 1975 Broadway production.
In October, a separate production
of A Chorus Line will pop up on the East Coast. The Memorial Auditorium at the
Duke Energy Center in Raleigh, N.C., will feature A Chorus Line from Oct.
14-19. Just like the Seattle production, this Raleigh edition of the musical
also will be the first show of the NC Theatre's 2014-15 Broadway Series South
