Various sporting clubs of the University field their athletes at the NCAA Division I level as the members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Of course, the most famous of them is the football team, the Crimson Tide which started the recent 5 seasons winning 17 national championships under the leadership of Nick Saban. The university also boasts of some of its excellent teams in baseball, basketball, golf and other sporting disciplines. Crimson Tide athletes and fans are dedicated and UID is unquestionably one of the most successful and well-loved college sports programs across the United States.
