Skrillex fans are waiting for any information on the existence of a tour in 2023.
EDM star Skrillex has been a little inactive in terms of touring and album drops in the past few years, and fans of the producer would be excited about the possibility of touring new tunes in 2023.
Skrillex first came to EDM prominence in 2010 after leaving his band From First To Last and embracing dubstep. His Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites EP was quite the game changer in the electronic scene as it combined some unforgettable vocal melodies with some filthy sub-bass drops. Soon enough this distinct sound shot this artist into the global spotlight in the electronic dance music scene.
Since then, Skrillex toured the world as a headliner at various international music festivals and completed many tours up to approximately 2016 before he decided to reduce his touring activities in favor of focusing on making even more music. He has persisted with DJ gigs and festival performances here and there, including an appearance at Lollapalooza in 2022. But the audience has been craving for the experience of his performance, in which he flew over the audience with the help of holo-technology, as well as his famous guests.
Rumblings of a Return
Over the past year, Skrillex has mentioned in different interviews that he has been involved in recording sessions on numerous albums. This news only fueled hope among the fans that new Skrillex music could potentially be released alongside the full-scale tour shortly.
Skrillex was even able to premiere two songs that have yet to be released to the public when he did an AMA on Reddit last June. Songs like ‘Real Spring’ hinted at the return of the classic guttural Skrillex sound that fans enjoyed in the past. The last full-length studio album he released was Recess back in 2014, so the fans can’t be any ravenous for a new set of mind-bending dubstep and bass.
Currently, there have been no confirmations of any specific touring plans announced by Skrillex himself. But on average once an EDM icon begins to tease several new tracks, a tour to support the new album is usually around the corner.
Looking to 2023
Looking at the signs, 2023 may be the year when Skrillex goes on the road again in North America and the rest of the world for a headlining tour.
Fortunately, with the pandemic restrictions now slowly being lifted and live music booming again, it is time for Skrillex to make his big comeback. The desire for an exciting emotional ride to the crowded sweaty dance floors has been felt for years now.
With an increase in his festival bookings and DJ appearances recently, his management might think that his name awareness is high enough again to fill up the arenas for a solo tour. Combine that with a high profile that was accompanied by a brand new album that has been long overdue and you have the makings for the most sought-after touring ticket in EDM next year.
What’s In It for the Fans When They Go to A Skrillex Tour?
Those who have been to the previous Skrillex show are fully aware of the pandemonium that these performances are characterized by. Sitting on the rail at a Skrillex concert can be quite the experience as the bass drops go through your entire body while accompanied by amazing light shows which are more like attacks to the senses.
The audiences at such shows can turn into bounce fests within a flash, incited by Skrillex himself enthusiastically moshing behind the turntables. For the audience, it is time to get ready for non-stop dance floor fillers mixed with a few touching ballads which Skrillex might deem necessary to include in between his breaks.
Tour Support Speculation
The best thing about any Skrillex tour is deciding on which ‘up and comers’ he’d like to bring with him along as support acts. In the past, he has been very adept at providing up-and-coming talents with opportunities to perform before his big-name acts.
For instance, Porter Robinson, Zedd, and Jack Ü cite Skrillex tours as having played a pivotal role in elevating their brand awareness at their nascent stages. So, the fans will be waiting to know if any of the rumored collaborators like Fred Again or promising newcomers like Moore Kismet have been booked as the opening act.
There is also always the possibility that Skrillex will construct some festival-style lineups by having other EDM stars open for him on select dates. If Skrillex is willing to deliver superstar-packed shows LA, New York, or Vegas are the sort of locales that should brace themselves for it in 2023. Fans Ready and Waiting
They continue waiting and eagerly expecting the news about Skrillex tour dates in 2023 and new songs. His army of devoted fans is ready to buy presale tickets as soon as the dates are out.
The only question that arises is whether Skrillex will be able to satisfy their need for his exciting performances next year. Or will fans have to remain quietly watching with anticipation for their long-beloved hero to come back and rekindle the flame one more time?
