Selena Gomez Talks What She Wants For Upcoming Concert Tours
Thankfully, Selena has been seen in the studio in recent months and years as well, which has caused her fans to wonder if new material may still be in the works soon. When asked in a recent interview, the pop singer expressed her desire to go back on the road and do concert tours again shortly.
“I love touring so much, I think it is my favorite thing in the whole world,” she disclosed. “It was great to have that interaction with the fans and being able to come out and give them an amazing show and production it has been missed. ”
The last extensive tour that Gomez embarked on was the Revival Tour which began in 2015 and ended in 2016 in support of the album of the same name. She sang popular songs such as “Good for You”, “Same Old Love”, and “Hands to Myself” to specific forty concerts in North America, Asia, and Europe. However she had to cut short the tour, she was unable to perform on the European and South American tours because of anxiety, panic attacks, and depression that she had been suffering.
Currently, in much better physical and mental health, Gomez stated that she is willing to return to the stage and engage with her fans globally.
“I am looking forward to being able to tour again, that has been ages,” she said. “My fans are the world to me. I so much want the next tour to be different from the last one, I have many ideas in my head and I hope to give my fans the best. ”
Gomez was not specific about any particular tour announcement or show date but she did indicate that she would love to tour again shortly.
While we are not fully prepared or booked yet, I wanted to let everyone know that my team and I are planning on coming up with something rather unique. ” “I hope I will be in a position to announce a tour and have tickets on sale during the latter half of this year or early next year. ”
For now, Gomez adds that she plans to focus all her efforts on the completion of her new album. Her last full-length solo album was released in 2020 and is called Rare.
”In the studio, I am practicing all the time,” Gomez said. ‘I have a few collaborations in the works that I’m excited about,’ she said. ‘I think the new album is going to have a really fun, danceable, hopeful vibe. At least that’s what I’m aiming for. ’
As for the sources of inspiration, she stated that: ‘I use my own life as the basis for composing songs; therefore many of them were written based on major life shifts that I went through. ’ “It might be something that people can dance to or cry to, or laugh to… I want it to be very relatable. ”
Although Gomez has been on other songs such as Trevor Daniel’s “Past Life” released this year and Camilo’s “999” released last year, the singer notes that most of the songs she has been on are usually singles. But she has not ruled out doing more features in the future.
‘I want collaboration to happen naturally where both artists are comfortable to pursue the project,’ she said, adding that she didn’t wish to impose herself on other artists. ‘I always have a dream list in my mind and I guess it would be amazing to collaborate with other artists like Doja Cat, Rosalía, or Post Malone. ’
Adding to that, she revealed that she is also planning on continuing acting, just like she always has in her career, in between her working on her sixth studio album. She is set to return to the second season of the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building with Steve Martin and Martin Short, portraying the enigmatic character of Mabel again.
“I’m lucky I get the best of both worlds with music and acting,” said Gomez. ‘I am glad I had the opportunity to begin my journey in Disney Channel and have the opportunity to grow throughout the process’.
In response to questions about her previous band The Scene and if she would ever join another group again, Gomez appeared less eager.
“I’m not sure if I would do a proper group or girl group thing now,” she said candidly. >But I am ready to record a song in duet with other singers anytime And perhaps there will be a time when I am interested in being part of this or that project.
Currently, Gomez only has plans to complete her solo album and think about the concepts of her next tour. Although she did not reveal specific dates and locations of the shows as well as venues, she assured her fans that the official tour details would be released shortly.
“I sure hope everyone is getting excited and saving their coins because we’re going to put on the best show ever,” Gomez said as she flashed a smile. “I legit cannot wait to get back on stage and perform for all my fans again! It feels like it’s been ages and it’s going to be magical. The next era of my life is gonna be something very special. ”
