Jon Bellion entered the music scene as a phenomenon when he released his first album ‘The Human Condition’ in 2016. Including songs like All Time Low and Guillotine, this album showcased his ability as not only a singer but a songwriter, producer, and rapper as well. His music style which incorporated pop, hip-hop, R&B, and rock was well-received among fans and the media.
Having released his first album, fans waited eagerly for Jon to hit the road and take his music to the stage. His high-energy live shows where he sings and records himself while beatboxing were some of the reasons fans were eager to see him perform live.
Later in 2017, Jon revealed that he would be touring under the name The Human Condition Tour to promote his debut album. Starting in New York in April 2017, Jon tackled global cities including Chicago, Toronto, and Los Angeles. Production was invested and accompanied by perfectly timed light and graphics to enhance the aura of each song. Jon was jumping all over the place and knew what he was doing as he imitated the studio tracks and various vocal harmonies and instrumental parts.
Fortunately, overseas audiences got an opportunity to enjoy The Human Condition Tour when Jon extended it to Europe in early 2018. He was able to dance in 12 countries; some of which include England, France, Germany, Netherlands, and Spain. So by the time he wrapped the tour, he had already performed over a hundred shows, proving himself a compelling stage act.
Jon’s second album ‘Glory Sound Prep’ was released in November 2018. For the next one, Jon presented growth as the album was deeper in the genres and themes that he covered. After a long journey of making fans wait for the release of Glory Sound Prep, the audience grew restless and started asking – when will Jon tour for this new album?
They received what they wanted when The Glory Sound Prep Tour was launched shortly after the album’s release. It began in February 2019 in North America, where Jon transitioned to using more extensive venues and stages. He came up with more innovative means such as floating stages to fully engage the fans with the new album.
The tour lasted for almost a year during which Jon was able to perform at festivals such as Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza among others as well as stage sold-out shows across the United States of America and Canada. The European leg brought him to Amsterdam, Berlin, London, and Paris where international fans were able to enjoy Glory Sound Prep live.
As Jon Bellion’s fame grows and his tours become more widespread, with him already performing two world tours, the artist’s popularity is only set to increase. He earned a Grammy in 2021 for co-writing the Jonas Brothers’ song Sucker which marked the band’s return. He also collaborated with the rock band Twenty-One Pilot and the duo Louis the Child to attract a new audience.
Well, when can fans look forward to Jon organizing his next concert tour? Although Jon has not come out publicly to announce that he will be doing a tour, his fans have hints with which they can work.
New Album is in the Near Future As for Jon, the end of The Glory Sound Prep Tour saw him move to the recording studio, and he has indicated new music may be on the way. Since both of his previous tours were in support of albums he recently released, then new music would be a good sign that Jon is planning to go on tour again.
During an August 2022 Instagram post, Jon posted a video of himself singing new music with the caption “Album mode”. This has fans speculating that an announcement about the third studio album could be forthcoming at any time. If new music is released in late 2022 or early 2023, an accompanying tour will likely be announced soon after.
Social Media Hints Jon actively communicates with the audience on social networks and when he can, he shares some information about what he is working on. Besides studio news, he recently took to his social media to poll his fans to know the states he has not been to/or should revisit. Questions like this have concert hopefuls even more excited for a tour announcement as many suspect Jon may return to previous tour locations along with some new cities.
Any tour dates are likely to be first posted on Jon’s website and social media and as such fans will be waiting for any announcement.
Ideal Touring Period When Jon is through with writing and recording his next album, he will need to coordinate the timing of the tour to coincide with the new album for support and promotion. Previous tours have started 1-3 months after the album release which could give the timing.
Based on this pattern, shows may go on tour early next year, in case Jon continues with the same trend. Some of the specific peak travel months include January, February, March, and April, which are considered to have favorable weather conditions in addition to falls during holiday seasons and student holidays. This would position Jon nicely if new music comes out before the year 2022 comes to an end.
Setbacks Possible However, as is evident in the current pandemic, there is always a possibility of setbacks that may interfere with tours. Jon, however, had to reschedule his Glory Sound Prep Tour halfway into the tour because he injured himself on stage. So while fans wait with anticipation for any tour to be announced, the dates may still switch around in contingency plans.
The second reason is Jon had his first child in early 2022. This could also affect the flexibility of his tours because embracing fatherhood alongside his music may also be challenging. Although parenthood has not put a stop to the global touring of artists such as Justin Bieber or The Weeknd, Jon might be looking forward to performing live again soon.
There is much expectation for the next Jon Bellion album and tour as each continues to grow his audience exponentially. As Jon stays in the studio to record what will be a phenomenal follow-up album fans can now begin to look forward to what would become the biggest tour of his career. Wait for updates on Jon’s social media accounts and music news websites for the next chapter of Jon Bellion gearing up soon. If and when Jon does finally confirm a new batch of live shows then again tickets will be selling like hot cakes so fans should be prepared!
