JoJo Siwa is an American singer, Dancer, actress, and YouTube personality who rose to fame through the Dance Moms Reality TV show. She is very appealing to preteen girls because of the colorful clips on her head, cheerful songs, and lively character. Currently, JoJo has gone beyond shows and has included merchandise, books, apps, and even movies. Another job that is closest to her heart is her latest concert tour across the country.
JoJo’s D. R. E. A. M. The Tour began in May 2019 and was completed in the autumn of the same year. It started operating again in January 2020 but had to close in March 2020 because of the coronavirus outbreak. Some of the songs performed in concert include Boomerang, Kid in a Candy Store, Hold the Drama, and D. R. E. A. M. JoJo performs some famous songs such as Can’t Stop the Feeling, and High Hopes. The concert performances include dancing, aerial, video, and pyrotechnic displays. From the audience has fans stay on stage, and also allows herself time to engage with the audience. All the programs close with a big sleepover with characters dressed in pajamas and whatnot and Fighting.
They performed in indoor venues particularly mid-size theaters and arenas which could hold between 1,500 to 4,500 fans per show. There were floor seats for the general public and others known as the balcony seats. There were also VIP options which included a better view, special merch, a chance to take a photo with JoJo, and many others. The tickets were sold at between $40 and $500 depending on the place and city. Every show on the tour was almost sold out within the first few days of tickets going up for sale.
The audience that JoJo intends to appeal to is young ladies between the ages of 3 to 14 years together with their parents or guardians. However, she has a large number of fans of all ages because her videos are popular on platforms such as YouTube. Even though most of her fans are girls who are drawn to her glamorous style, she does have some male fans as well. JoJo is also famous among the gay community and proudly states that she supports equal rights for everyone. To a large extent, most of the people who purchase concert tickets are fans who have followed JoJo Siwa for a long time and would love to see her in person. Nevertheless, some people attend their first concert after watching the performer on some programs like Dance Moms or Lip Sync Battle Shorties. Most of the underage fans are taken to the concerts by their parents or guardians, commonly known as chaperones.
JoJo has been criticized by some people because they feel that this brand promotes consumerism and materialism. Some others argue that her image and songs promote a culture of sexism. But the positive messages she embodies such as self-esteem, anti-bullying, and positivity appear to be the ones that can be heard by most of the fans.
The D. R. E. A. M Tour was planned to continue up to the summer of 2020. But the remaining dates had to be rescheduled when COVID-19 struck, causing most tours in that year to be called off. The group has not yet announced new tour dates beyond a limited number of stand-alone shows in 2022. People are excited to hear details of the tour to be able to dance and party with JoJo Siwa again. Given her current popularity and the number of followers she has, it should not be long until she returns to the music scene and starts touring again. For now, the fans remain engaged with JoJo through social media platforms and enjoy streaming her songs and videos at home.
