  • Dave Mason to Tour North America in 2023

Former member of the iconic rock band Traffic and world-renowned guitarist and songwriter Dave Mason will be performing a series of concerts across North America in 2023. The tour marks over half a century of Mason’s stellar musical career that has produced several hits and inspired generations in rock, pop, blues, and folk among other music genres.

Mason is well known as a founding member of one of the most influential and legendary British bands Traffic in the late 1960s. He wrote Traffic’s 1967 hit ‘Hole in My Shoe’ as the group began to pioneer a unique rock, folk, jazz, and psychedelic sound. Mason started a solo career in the early 1970s as Traffic began to disintegrate. The 1977 release Let It Flow included the definitive Mason hit, and still a radio favorite today, “We Just Disagree. ”

Mason has released more than twenty studio and live albums as a soloist and combines sharp rock’n’roll and gentle acoustic songs. As a session guitarist, he has been extremely busy over the years recording and playing with artists including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, and the founder of Fleetwood Mac Peter Green to name just a few.

Mason’s upcoming tour in 2023 brings a lot of markets he hasn’t played in years and some brand-new ones as well. “I am ready to take my band on the road and perform songs from my collection,” Mason added. “It will be fun to also perform my classics to all the longtime fans, and maybe catch the attention of new fans that I believe will embrace my 50-year songwriting portfolio. ”

The newly announced Dave Mason 2023 tour starts on February 21 in Dallas, Texas, and extends for over two months, including major cities such as Houston, Austin, Tucson, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Milwaukee, Chicago, Columbus, Buffalo, New York City, and Washington DC. The last currently planned show is on April 1 in Boston but could have additional dates in the future.

Mason plans on playing slightly different concerts each night and concentrating on his hundreds of melodic rock hits as well as songs lesser known to even the most avid fans such as “Feelin’ Alright” and “Only You Know and I Know”. Each concert intends to guide the audiences through an emotional journey of sublime music signifying Mason’s longevity in the industry.

Also, a longtime favorite for his lively and engaging DJ sets where call-ins and longer sets are often incorporated, Mason now boasts of making every one of his performances special. ‘I feel the audience and try to come up with a new show every night,’ Mason points out. It only leaves room for the audience and me to share an improvised spontaneity of the musical experience.

Considering that Mason still manages to sell out midsize clubs and theaters, tickets may be hard to come by in some locations once they go on sale this Friday, the 20th of January. The price ranges between $50 to $100 depending on the city where the comedy show is to be performed. Superfan VIP meet and greet packages that include special merch and a chance to briefly speak with Mason backstage will be available at each concert.

During his 44-year career, Mason has played with some of the biggest names in music including Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac, Rolling Stones etc. However, over the years he is still jovial and humble about it all and has never ceased to be Mason or officially a wrestler as his career is already approaching fifty years in the business.

Describing his upcoming 2023 headlining tour, Mason says: “All I wish for is to revisit those great impromptu experiences of earlier parts of my career with my brilliant new backing band… And the music doesn’t get stale even when playing those iconic hits thousands of times throughout the years… I’m still able to make music for people and follow my dream to this day, down the road. ”

Given the stylistic versatility of his numerous albums and singles and Mason’s dynamic onstage presence and technical prowess, his 2023 tour guarantees high-energy shows for loyal fans and those who have only recently learned about him. Do not wait any longer to obtain tickets soon before many of these areas are sold out for what promises to be an awesome and unforgettable concert from this true rock icon.
