In support of their most recent LP The Dream, British indie rock band Alt-J has released a lengthy list of 2023 tour dates. Starting their North American tour on March 1st in Washington D. C at The Anthem, the Leeds, England band is due to Then, in March Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Detroit, and Chicago, they will present additional events in big East Coast and Midwest cities.
The band is slated to go to the West Coast in April this year for several dates wherein they will be seen traveling down the coast with Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and many others booked before the band returns to the Southwest and southern half of the nation. May will bring a two-night performance at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, the Shaky Knees Festival, BottleRock, and Hangout Fest. Still scheduled for the summer are further dates including gigs in Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto.
Since 2018, the band has not visited North America except in promotion of their third studio album Relaxer. The first opportunity the public will get to listen to fresh The Dream Live tracks will be their show in 2023. Released in February 2023, Alt-J's fourth studio album is their first since REDUXER from 2017. With its very experimental sound that blurs the boundary between folk, electronica, and rock music, the 11 tracks on the album have drawn many favorable reviews from reviewers. Old audiences as well as new fans have connected with songs like U&ME, Hard Drive Gold, and Get Better.
The announcement of the tour followed the conclusion of the UK tour in December 2022. Following the cancelation of most of the band's touring in 2020 due to the coronavirus epidemic, Alt-J's live return consisted of those gigs. Regarding their 2023 tour, it will go on from where the last dates would finish, thereby allowing the audience to once again enjoy seeing the band play their cinematic songs and sophisticated musicianship.
